Workshops and Other Activities
The program offers workshops and other supportive activities in a number of areas. Each semester the program schedules six workshops that focus on one or more of the most critical skills and/or attributes that contribute to being a master student. These topics include goal setting, time management, negotiating with faculty, memory, thinking and learning, test taking skills, and note taking skills.
Six financial aid workshops are scheduled for the month of January and February each year. The workshops are facilitated by financial aid counselors, and feature FAFSA information, scholarship information, and budget and management tips.
The EAP provides several opportunities for participants to examine their choice of major, and to develop a career focus. Students also get opportunities to interact with real professionals through the following activities: collaborations with Career Services, the faculty showcase seminar, the dining etiquette seminar, the faculty interview exercise, and the scavenger hunt exercise.
