Learning Communities
One of the best predictors of success in college is how involved you are and how much you feel a part of the campus. The University of Tennessee offers freshman students eight exciting living options called learning communities. One of these communities may be just right for you:
The Communities at Morrill:
- The Pathways Community
- The Honors Community
- The engage Community
- The Design Community
- The College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR) Community
- The Leadership Community
- The Baker Center Community
The Community at Hess:
Each community is unique in both design and requirements, but all of the communities provide you with opportunities to connect with your classmates, become involved in campus life, and develop skills that will enable you to be both a successful student and leader. Because each community has its own special series of social, cultural, recreational, and educational programs, a $50 program fee is required from each member of the community. This covers the cost of activities such as free tutoring sessions, plays, hiking trips, and whitewater rafting trips, and by paying this one time fee, you’ll be able to enjoy those activities without purchasing a separate ticket for each. For more information about learning communities, please visit the University Housing website, or for specific information about a learning community, please visit its website using the links above.
“I am glad that I joined the Pathways Community since I met so many new people and spent time with them. Living with the same group of students with the same common bond was very cool, and I would recommend it to other future UT students.”
