Curious about gen ed requirements?

General Education allows you, the student, to get a taste of the various majors that are available to you. Think of it as a buffet table. If you like something you take off the buffet table, you go back for more. The same is true of course selection. Many students will select majors that were not even on their radar when they entered college.

General Education is also an opportunity to learn about topics you have never been exposed to. A great part of college is stretching yourself in terms of your knowledge base. You can gain a greater appreciation of the world, the arts, and diversity through completing the General Education curriculum.

Below are the general education requirements listed by catalog year. Be sure to choose the one that you and your advisor are using. If you are unsure, please check with your advisor first before making any decisions about what general education courses to take. Finally, this is just a general list for the entire university. Some colleges may have different requirements, so again, check with your advisor before making any decisions.
